Marquez Valdes-Scantling reveals only reason why he signed with Steelers

The former Green Bay Packers duo of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Aaron Rodgers finally reunited on the Pittsburgh Steelers — and the veteran wideout revealed the only reason why he joined the Steel City brand of football at 31 years old.

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, MVS was asked if Rodgers played any role in getting him to Pittsburgh — and the new Steelers receiver didn’t mince words in his response.

“He is the reason,” Valdes-Scantling said via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, keeping it short and sweet about why he signed with Pittsburgh.

It’s no secret how close the two former Packers are, spending four seasons in Green Bay together from 2018 to 2021, with Valdes-Scantling catching 123 passes for 2,153 yards and 13 touchdowns from Rodgers.

While MVS still remains on the practice squad, it appears to be only a matter of time — after Pittsburgh neglected to pick up a wideout at the trade deadline — before we see the veteran wideout catching touchdown passes once more from Rodgers.
