Lok Sabha election results: BJP faced major vote share decline in key constituencies in Uttar Pradesh

The BJP experienced a substantial decline in its vote share in Uttar Pradesh, dropping from 49.6% in 2019 to 41.4% this time. In 72 of the 75 constituencies where it ran both times, its vote count fell by a few thousand to 2.2 lakh, totalling about 65 lakh fewer votes, despite an overall increase in the state’s total votes.
