DRAPER, Utah, Sept. 5 — The No. 1 Mater Dei Monarchs lead the Kahuku Red Raiders, 8-7, in the third quarter.
Mater Dei enters the game having taken an unexpected bye week when last week’s opponent was unable to field a team due to suspensions.
Kahuku, meanwhile, is in the middle of a brutal two-game stretch. The Red Raiders lost, 38-0, at home to the No. 2 Bishop Gorman Gaels last week.
Now, they hop on a plane and fly to the mainland to take on the nation’s top-ranked team.
