A special Air Force aircraft carrying the mortal remains of 45 Indians killed in massive fire in Kuwait landed in Kerala.
On Wednesday, 49 migrant workers were killed and 50 others were injured in the fire accident.
Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh who coordinated with Kuwaiti authorities for swift repatriation of the bodies, is onboard the aircraft.

“A special IAF aircraft carrying the mortal remains of 45 Indian victims in the fire incident in Kuwait has taken off for Kochi. MoS @KVSinghMPGonda, who coordinated with Kuwaiti authorities ensuring swift repatriation, is onboard the aircraft,” said the Indian embassy in Kuwait.

Among the 45 Indians killed in the fire incident, 23 were from Kerala, seven from Tamil Nadu, three each from Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, two from Odisha and one each from Bihar, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Haryana.
The aircraft will leave for Delhi from Kochi as some of the Indians killed in the fire accident hailed from few north and eastern states.
The Kuwaiti Fire Force said the fire was caused by an “electrical circuit”.
On June 13, the Kuwaiti officials identified the bodies of 45 Indians and three Filipino nationals killed in the fire accident.
