The Supreme Court has ordered that no trees be felled or transplanted for the metro rail project near Victoria Memorial in Kolkata. Notices were issued to the West Bengal government and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. The court will hear the matter again in three weeks, allowing construction to continue without tree removal.
