Several quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 deal with serious matters, from a blood feud between disparate clans to learning about different cultures and customs. Then, there are those that are meant to annoy you to no end, as though someone’s pulling a prank. Here’s our guide on how to complete Demons of Trosky in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
How to complete Demons of Trosky in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Quest guide
The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Demons of Trosky quest takes place during the first half of the campaign. It’s also one of the few that has a guaranteed “fail state” if you proceed past a point of no return. Here are some tidbits to remember:
The quest becomes available once you’ve completed For Whom the Bell Tolls. Simply chat with Ulrich the chamberlain and he’ll tell you about dark denizens that are lurking in Trosky Castle. You can also ask Ulrich for holy water or magic water. You can complete this mission as long as you haven’t started a main quest called For Victory. Just don’t talk to Hans Capon when you see For Victory in your journal, and you should be fine.
Blacksmith Osina’s tasks
The Demons of Trosky quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has three separate segments that you need to complete. One arc concerns Osina the blacksmith’s tales about a mysterious portal that dark creatures use to escape. He then asks you to go to specific locations one after the other:
The latrines next to the dueling yard. The latrine near Von Bergow’s chamber. And, finally, the latrine on the staircase landing past the scribe’s chamber.
Osina hasn’t been kind to you this whole time. We guess that he’s just exhibiting crappy behavior as usual.
Crone Tower fireplaces
The two other arcs requires you to chat with the maids/cooks in the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. They tell you of strange beasts that crawl out of fireplaces, and you have to sprinkle holy water or magic water to cleanse the areas. There are five fireplaces in each section, and here are the ones in the Crone Tower (i.e. western part of the fortress):
Ground floor: Kitchen stoveSecond floor: Dining roomThird floor: Ulrich’s chambersFourth floor: Knight’s loungeFifth floor: Knight’s quarters
Maiden Tower fireplaces
These are the fireplaces in the Maiden Tower (i.e. eastern part of the fortress):
Ground floor: Kitchen stoveSecond floor: Widower hallwayThird floor: Von Bergow’s chambersThird floor: Von Bergow’s reception hall
Wait, isn’t there supposed to be another fireplace?
Yes, there’s supposed to be a fifth fireplace in the Maiden Tower. It’s actually located in the feasting hall on the second floor. Here’s the weird part: The doors that lead to the room are closed, and there’s no way to interact with them–i.e. not even a button prompt to use lockpicks. Funnily enough, you do get to enter the feasting hall during the For Victory quest, but this also causes Demons of Trosky to end prematurely.
Initially, we thought that this was just a bug. However, given what we’ve witnessed from NPCs and later events that transpired, we started to believe that the NPCs were just trolling us.
That does it for our guide on how to (sort of) complete Demons of Trosky in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. There’s also another mission that takes place in this fortress. If you’d like to learn more about it, you can head over to our Storm quest guide.
