In past years Kaua’i has experienced devastating tropical cyclones, wildfires, flooding, high surf and wave events. In response, the County of Kaua’i has developed a framework to help Kauaʻi’s communities prepare more effectively and better support recovery following natural disasters. The written guidelines for disaster recovery operations were formally adopted by the Kaua’i County Council in September.
