If reliable sources are to be believed, reigning star Jr NTR’s popularity and charisma seem to be growing by the day. His upcoming film ‘Devara’ has reportedly struck a whopping deal with digital giant Netflix. “The digital rights will be sold for a record price of Rs 150 cr highest for a Telugu film in recent times. Negotiations will be conclusive soon,” says a source. He claims that Bollywood diva Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan could have been the value addition. “Apart from NTR expanding pan India image after RRR, the makers roped in Bollywood stars and enhanced its pan India reach. It is bound to draw more Hindi viewers besides worldover audiences when it is premiered on digital space,” he adds.
No doubt, Koratala Siva’s directorial, is designed as an action adventure with the scion of the Nandamuri family essaying an anger-driven role. “NTR’s brooding anger and his fiery appearance have generated hype for the film. When the makers revealed that he would be seen in two roles, it raised the spirits and confidence of Nandamuri fans worldwide. Coz, one role would be fearsome, while another role would entertain fans with his punchlines and dances,” he points out.
The film is also set to showcase the crowd-pulling prowess of NTR in theatres as well as on digital platforms. ‘It is a twin challenge for Simhadri star to grab more eyeballs to two platforms and raise the bar on Telugu stars pan world reach and mileage, he concludes.
