Under first-year GM James Gladstone, the Jacksonville Jaguars roster has undergone a fairly big overhaul this offseason, and with that, there are some newly assigned jersey numbers.
It’s fairly common for a new GM to step in and begin reshaping the roster as he sees fit, and Gladstone very much did that. The Jaguars are the only team in the NFL that didn’t re-sign one of their own unrestricted free agents. In fact, the only free agent who returned was Cole Van Lanen, a restricted free agent.
Gladstone would then make 12 outside free agent signings over the course of the offseason, which included nine on the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period.
In the draft, he added nine new draft picks to the roster and signed 22 undrafted rookies. By my math, on a 91-man roster with the IPP exemption, that’s 43 new players–or nearly half of the current team.
So, with OTAs already underway for the Jaguars, from free agents to undrafted rookies, let’s see what jersey numbers each player will be wearing this summer.
