India saw a 19.3 per cent drop in particulate pollution in 2022, second only to Bangladesh. This added 51 days to citizens’ life expectancy. The significant decline was due to favourable weather and fewer thermal inversions. The report indicates India’s life expectancy could improve with continued efforts to reduce pollution.
