How To Unlock The Ghost Hunter Rewards In Death Stranding 2

Are you planning to unlock the Ghost Hunter in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach? This NPC might seem like a tricky one. Although you do receive a sub-order to deliver goods to him, the task itself isn’t enough to make him want to be connected to the Chiral Network. Fortunately, there’s another mission that you can tackle that solves this dilemma.

How to unlock the Ghost Hunter in Death Stranding 2 – Ghost Hunter NPC guide

The Ghost Hunter is an optional NPC in the game. That means you have to undertake an optional mission just to meet him. Here’s a quick summary:

You have to progress further into the campaign until you reach Episode 8: Deluge. After a while, you should receive a main mission to meet the Chronobiologist. At the Chronobiologist’s camp, you’ll be able to craft the EX Capture Grenades, which you can use to capture and summon BTs.Moreover, the Chronobiologist’s terminal has a sub-order that you need to pick up: “Deliver proof of an attack to the Ghost Hunter.”From there, head down the sloping path to the north, where you’ll spot the Ghost Hunter’s mini-base.

Ghost Hunter order: Uncover the identity of the Headless Riders

Upon handing over the deliverables from the Chronobiologist, you still won’t be able to connect the Death Stranding 2 Ghost Hunter to the Chiral Network. In fact, you could pick up all sorts of lost cargo near the area, and that won’t be enough.

Instead, you must check the Ghost Hunter’s terminal to select this sub-order/mission: “Uncover the identity of the Headless Riders and remove the threat.” This particular task also has some notable requirements and info:

The location is due northeast of the Ghost Hunter’s camp. It’s just across the river that leads back to the Mechanic. You need to ride a Tri-Cruiser, and it has to be nighttime when you reach the area. You can either fabricate a Tri-Cruiser or grab one from another player. To change the day-night cycle, simply sleep in a private room.

If you meet the above requirements, make your way to the marked location. Oh, and be sure to bring several weapons, such as the Bola Stun Gun from the Inventor.

The Headless Riders battle

Assuming you’re on a Tri-Cruiser and it’s evening when you arrive at the marked location, you should see an Auto-Pave device that glows red. Approach it to trigger a cutscene. This leads to the Death Stranding 2 Headless Riders battle. Here’s what you need to know:

You’re going to fight dozens of motorcycle-riding enemies, all while riding your Tri-Cruiser. New waves of enemies spawn once you’ve defeated their comrades. The Bola Stun Gun is quite effective, since it deals damage and briefly incapacitates your opponent. Alternatively, you can use other weapons like the Machine Gun, Assault Rifle, or Shotgun.Enemies tend to do a variety of attacks, such as a spinning blade move if they’re far ahead of you, and multiple grenade explosions that travel along the highway. After taking out several foes on red bikes, another one with a blue glow will appear. This is your main target. Eliminate it, as well as the remaining hostiles, to finish the encounter.

Ghost Hunter rewards

After dealing with the Headless Riders, make your way back to the Ghost Hunter’s camp. Talk to him and he’ll agree to get connected to the Chiral Network. From this point onward, you should be able to complete orders and deliver additional lost cargo to increase the connection rank further. His rewards include:

Rank 2: Porter Suit: WoodlandRocket Box [MP] weaponRank 3: Phantom Gas GrenadeRank 4: Large Grenade PouchBackpack Patch 50: BT KheirRank 5: Custom Hologram: The Ghost HunterBackpack Patch 47: BT Gigas
