It’s almost time – after over 10 years, exciting new strategy gem Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is finally set to release into early access later this month.
Publisher Hooded Horse has just unveiled the Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era release date for PC, and it’s right around the corner: April 30. Not only will it launch at the tail end of this month, but it’ll be available to play via Game Pass day one, too – and no, none of this is an April Fool’s joke. With 40 years under its belt in total, and 30 years of legendary strategy games, the Might and Magic franchise truly is finally getting its new prequel.
Nearly 11 years have passed since the last Heroes entry dropped – Might & Magic Heroes 7 – in 2015, so this is kind of a big deal. Its hotly anticipated arrival won’t leave fans wanting, either, with hand-crafted and procedurally generated maps, impressive cities to raise, and massive armies of mythical beasts to use to conquer formidable foes.
Folks can also look forward to an action-packed Arena, narrative campaign, skirmish modes, and premade scenarios.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era also boasts multiplayer, making it the perfect strategy game to hop in with friends or solo.
Hooded Horse presents it as a title that’s “made for series veterans and newcomers alike” as well, so there’s nothing stopping interested players who might be worried about having missed the, you know, literal decades upon decades of other Might and Magic greats. It’s a win-win for all, if you ask me.
It appears the new game has already accrued a plethora of interested fans, anyway, with Hooded Horse having celebrated over one million wishlists on Steam after a killer demo in October of 2025 – and something tells me that now, months later, it’s sure to have even more excited players backing it.
Thankfully, with the Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era early access release mere weeks away, the ever-growing community doesn’t have long to wait.
