Haryana Assembly Polls: Only 87 women elected in almost 60 years of the state’s history

Haryana’s assembly elections feature a predominantly male political landscape, with only 51 women candidates nominated by major parties. Since 1966, the state has elected just 87 women to the assembly and has yet to have a female chief minister. The elections are scheduled for October 5, with results on October 8.
