Expressing her outrage on the rape and murder of a woman resident doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, Nirbhaya’s mother, Asha Devi, said that it is the most unfortunate thing that had developed there and that the “governments are accusing each other and holding protests instead of working on that case, women’s safety and shortcomings in the law.”
