The Washington Commanders defeated the New York Giants on Sunday to improve to 1-0 on the season. Quarterback Jayden Daniels was excellent, completing 19 of 30 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown. Daniels also rushed for 68 yards.
Daniels also appeared to make one member of the Giants unhappy. Seventh-year linebacker Brian Burns was New York’s best player on Sunday, finishing with six tackles and two sacks.
After Sunday’s game, Burns spoke with reporters who asked if he learned anything new about Daniels. His answer was surprising.
“He talk a lot,” Burns said. “Um, cool dude, but he talk a lot, I don’t like it. I don’t wanna talk to you.”
Reporters then asked if Daniels was specifically talking trash.
“Nah, he just be talking like this, ‘Hey buddy,’ I don’t want to talk to you. Talk to you after the game, bro. Yeah, he’s a smart guy, he’s trying to get in my head, make me feel like we’re friends now.”

This doesn’t appear to be anything malicious here from Burns. He was asked a question after a loss, and he answered. He admitted Daniels doesn’t talk trash, but Washington fans know he’s always talking to the other team.
The good news for Burns is that he doesn’t see Daniels again until Week 15 in December. The bad news is that Daniels will be around for a long time.
The Commanders face the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, giving Daniels a chance to get friendly with ex-Cowboy Micah Parsons again.
