Former Wisconsin offensive tackle Logan Brown signed with the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad on Thursday.
Brown, who played in Madison from 2020 until October 2022, initially signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent back in April. After failing to crack the franchise’s 53-man roster on Tuesday, Brown will now venture to Cleveland alongside quarterback Bailey Zappe, wide receiver Malachi Corley, guard Garrett Dellinger, guard Cole Strange and linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio.
Of note, Wisconsin alumnus Joe Huber cracked the Vikings’ 53-man roster at right guard after signing with the organization as an undrafted free agent. Program transfers Graham Mertz and Chimere Dike, who were drafted by the Texans and Titans, respectively, also earned positions on their teams’ 53-man depth charts.
The 6-foot-6 tackle arrived in Madison as one of the program’s most heralded recruits in recent memory. 247Sports considered the five-star the No. 7 overall player and No. 1 offensive tackle in the country for the class of 2019.
With the Badgers, Brown appeared in all 20 of the program’s games from 2020-21 as a reserve lineman and on special teams. After playing a similar role throughout the opening portion of the 2022 slate, he elected to enter the transfer portal in mid-October.

The Michigan native committed to the Kansas Jayhawks in November, and he suited up for just a pair of games as a redshirt junior in 2023. In 2024, he broke out as the program’s starting right tackle and helped lead the team to 211 rushing yards per game. Brown finished the year with Second-Team All-Big 12 honors and an overall ProFootballFocus grade of 82.5.
Brown will now look to showcase a similar ability to contribute in the Browns’ offensive line system this fall.
