Former Auburn running back Tank Bigsby looking for a big year three with Jaguars

Former Auburn running back Tank Bigsby is looking to help lead the Jacksonville Jaguars back to the postseason. Bigsby led the Jaguars in rushing last season with 766 yards and scored seven touchdowns. He made a big leap in his season in the NFL. In his rookie season, he rushed for just 132 yards and two touchdowns despite appearing in 17 games for the Jaguars. Another big leap in 2025 could mean his first 1,000-yard season as a professional.

Training camp has begun for all 32 NFL teams, and the former Tigers running back has been a standout for the Jaguars. John Shipley of Jacksonville Jaguars on SI, described it as “The Tank Bigsby Show.” According to Shipley, Bigsby took a bulk of the carries for the team in practice over Travis Etienne. Bigsby and Etienne are both battling it out for the top running back spot. It says a lot that new head coach Liam Coen was giving Bigsby most of the carries.

It should be noted that Jacksonville was not in pads during the training camp session. They were just in helmets and shorts. Jacksonville is looking to rebound from another disappointing season. The Jaguars went 4-13 last season and went 9-8 the season before. They have not made the playoffs since the 2022 season.

Auburn fans should be excited to see what Bigsby can do this preseason as he attempts to stake his claim as the Jaguars’ top running back. He is one of the most talented running backs to play for the Tigers. During his three seasons with Auburn from 2020-22, Bigsby rushed for 2,906 yards and 25 touchdowns. Bigsby is ranked No. 8 all-time at Auburn in yards and tied for eighth in touchdowns with Jarquez Hunter.
