Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and cornerback Mike Sainristil began building a friendship when both joined the Commanders as rookies in 2024. The two of them combined to help shape the locker room culture through their shared work ethic and leadership.
But their bond continues outside of the locker room and off the field, they are friends, with Sainristil even pranking Daniels last year on a TikTok trend. The two have bonded through their football journey and continue to support each other’s families. On Friday, after practice, Daniels was caught having a special moment with Sainristil’s daughter on the field.

Daniels carried Sainristil’s daughter off the field after practice. “Jayden looked like a natural, that meant a lot,” Sainristil said. “It’s special when your teammate treats your family like their own.”
The Commanders’ training camp is in full swing, and as they get ready for the grind of the season, it’s nice to be reminded that these guys are human, too. They are exceptional athletes who are also regular guys, fathers, brothers, and sons. They don’t just rely on each other on the field; they support one another off the field, too. And that’s why this team will continue to be successful in 2025.
