One of Auburn‘s biggest acquisitions this offseason continued earning accolades from the media this week. Wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr., who comes to the Plains with astoundingly high expectations, was named the fifth ranked player in 247Sports ‘2025 College Football Transfer Portal Rankings’ ahead of the 2025 season.
Singleton was the highest ranked pass catcher on the list, checking in three and four spots ahead of Florida State wide receiver Duce Robinson and LSU wide receiver Nic Anderson, respectively. The former Georgia Tech speedster trailed only quarterbacks Nico Iamaleava (1) and Carson Beck (4), offensive tackle Isiah World (2), and edge rusher Damon Wilson II (3) in the rankings.
An incoming junior, Singleton Jr. hauled in 104 receptions for 1,468 yards and 9 touchdowns during his time in the ACC. The 5-foot-11 pass catcher accumulated more than 700 receiving yards and 48 receptions in each of his two college seasons, although his touchdown production dropped from 6 as a freshman to just 3 as a sophomore last fall.
Now joining forces with sophomore phenom Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, and a variety of other talented wide outs, Singleton Jr. has the chance to explode statistically in his first season as a Tiger, especially if fellow transfer Jackson Arnold can provide head coach Hugh Freeze with an elite level of quarterback play.
While Auburn’s newest weapon has received plenty of hype heading into the fall, his true impact won’t be felt until the junior straps up the pads for the first time this August. Until then, Singleton Jr., Coleman, Simmons, and the rest of the Auburn pass catchers will continue building a rapport with the talented trio of Auburn signal-callers.
