Before another word is uttered about the Philadelphia Eagles‘ infamous play, we’d like to say we’d love to know what it’s called in the huddle. Jalen Hurts, during an appearance he and Saquon Barkley shared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, has already told us he and his teammates don’t call it that.
‘Brotherly Shove’ sounds better, but they don’t call it that either. So, regrettably, we succumb to the pressure of those around us, again overstating a phrase that most of us have tired of hearing.
If you’re late to another party, here’s what you missed. The Eagles continue to aggravate much of the viewing public by being better at running a quarterback sneak than everyone else is. Still, this most recent time, they did so in front of a record-setting viewership. There are other controversies, accusations of bending the rules, but here’s something else of note.
How about a Philly-style verbal beatdown of ESPN’s Adam Schefter?
Kincade and Salciunas offer a seething response.
This one’s worth a listen. If you missed it, ESPN’s NFL Insider joined his network’s highly popular Get Up! morning show. The Tush Push, as expected, was one of the discussion points. Let’s say Schefter’s comments birthed questions and conversations around the City of Brotherly Love. Shortly thereafter, 97.5 The Fanatic’s Kincade and Salciunas welcomed him as a guest and wasted no time pressing him in an attempt to get some clarification.

In Schefty’s defense, he makes some valid points. He’s never expressed that he was opposed to the play. Some of this feels like ‘making mountains out of molehills’, but that’s the kind of season it’s been so far. It’s been a weird campaign already. Never had we typed the words ‘spitting’ or ‘tush push’ so often, but oh well… These are hazards of the job, perhaps.
