Both Doom Eternal and Doom: The Dark Ages are getting some love as part of QuakeCon 2025, with developer Id Software announcing a free update for both games that add new features and give players more control over their experience.
For 2020’s Doom Eternal, mod support, which has been in beta, is now available for all owners of the game on Steam. The feature will be released on other PC platforms in the coming weeks, Id said.
With the addition of official mod support, the game’s main menu has changed, allowing for players the option to start a new save game with or without mods, as well as an in-game mod interface that allows users to browse, download, and arrange the load order of selected mods. More than 700 mods are already available, Id said.
