Dead by Daylight reached new heights after the special Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover launched recently. The multiplayer horror game reached 106,029 concurrent players on June 17, breaking its previous record by fewer than 1,000.
The last record was set in 2021 by a Resident Evil crossover that included Leon and Jill Valentine as the survivors, Raccoon City as a map, and Nemesis as the killer. Dead by Daylight–which launched in 2016–has hit concurrent player-counts above 90,000 multiple times, both with and without crossovers.
This current crossover includes a new playable character, Five Nights at Freddy’s Springtrap. His character brings over elements from his franchise, including shocking animations, spring doors, and security cameras that impact gameplay. The crossover also includes a new map, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
