Mike Sainristil had some time, so why not use it for someone else?
Sainristil, a cornerback from the University of Michigan, had an excellent rookie season in 2024. He was drafted in the second round to play the slot corner, but frankly, Benjamin St-Juste and Emmanuel Forbes were so poor playing the outside corner that Sainristil was moved outside and displayed an ability to adapt and contribute better.
Last week, Sainristil determined to use some of his free time to help serve others in a neighboring community. The second-year corner decided he would attend a graduation ceremony at C.W. Harris Elementary in the District. The school was honoring their fifth graders with a graduation ceremony as they were promoted to middle school for the 2025-26 school year. Sainristil then decided to do something nice for the graduates and their families, so he served Kona Ice for those being honored and their families in attendance.

Meanwhile, “Major Tuddy” was also in attendance. After all, an elementary school is probably the best place for Major Tuddy. He showed up again wearing his rather large combat hat, gold pants, burgundy jersey with gold numerals “00”, burgundy socks and white tennis shoes with a burgundy and gold stripe.
For those still wandering, “Tuddy” is some sort of attempt to provide the Commanders a mascot that is some sort of an attempt at an abbreviation for touchdown. You probably recall that the pig was chosen because the famed Washington Redskins offensive line was labeled “The Hogs” by offensive line coach Joe Bugel in 1982. The original starting hogs were left tackle Joe Jacoby, left guard Russ Grimm, center Jeff Bostic, right guard Mark May, right guard Fred Dean, tight end Don Warren and tight end Rick “Doc” Walker. Running back John Riggins was publicly declared by the linemen to be an honorary member of the “Hogs” as well.
