Season 5 is live in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, bringing the game’s final Zombies map called Reckoning. This map wraps up the narrative for Black Ops 6 Zombies, and it has some pretty exciting story implications for the future. Trying to keep much of the story spoiler-free, we guide you through the steps needed to experience the Reckoning’s main Easter egg for yourself.
Just like the past three maps, completing the storyline quest for Reckoning will reward you with unique items. The Reckoning rewards include the “Blood, Sweat, An’ Gears’ operator skin for Elizabeth Grey, a stamped calling card, and 5,000 XP.
The guided Director mode will arrive near the midseason update, and it will not unlock the operator skin or give the special stamp on the calling card. Following this guide will help you obtain all the unique rewards.

Starting your match with a good starting gun can help make these quest steps easier. If you bring in something like an assault rifle or light machine gun with a large magazine can help. The Maelstrom shotgun, loaded up with Rapid Fire and other attachments, is also a popular choice. Aether Shroud is a good Field Upgrade to use.
You will also need the map’s unique Wonder Weapon. Here is our full guide to getting the Gorgofex Wonder Weapon. You can start doing these steps at any time after you’ve turned on power to the map. If playing four-player co-op, it’s worth having someone start these steps early.
During early Kommando Klaus rounds (These are the special rounds of zombies, where Klaus robots are flying all around) you need to pick up the Klaus arm pieces they drop. You need to pick up two of these during your match. They’ll be used for a later step.
Otherwise, the first thing you need to do before starting the actual Easter egg quest steps is to turn on the power to the map. The game guides you through this part, giving you orange objective markers to lead you to the room for power and Pack-a-Punch.
Get the syringe
At around seven or eight, the Geneticist Zombie spawns in Mutant Research. This zombie drops a Keycard item once killed. Pick up the keycard to open a container in the room to get the DNA Vial.
Also, interact with a white canister, as shown in the image above. This will give you a syringe. Take this with you to Pack-a-Punch. Turn on the power.
Get the Fowler Mutant Injection killstreak
Then, jump up and ride the beam from the particle accelerator machine (it doesn’t hurt you) to knock a body down. Interact with the body on the floor to use the syringe to get a blood sample.
Make sure you have a Pack-a-Punch weapon for the next step. Take the syringe back to Mutant Research Lab. Interact with the white canister again to place the syringe.
A special Fowler Mangler enemy spawns. Kill it. Grab Fowler Mutant Injection killstreak, but don’t use it yet.
Open Teleportation Lab
Go to T2 Dark Entity Containment area. Use this special Fowler Mutant Injection to open the scanner door, as shown in the image above. Turning into the mangler lets you scan its eyeball to open a teleporter to a secret lab: T2 Teleportation Lab. You want to interact with the scanner to make it start the scanning process before you activate the special Mutant Injection. Otherwise, if you equip the Fowler Mutant Injection too soon, it might not be active in time to open the door.
If the door doesn’t open or you accidentally used your Fowler Mutant Injection, you can always go and get another by interacting with the white canister from which you originally got the syringe.
Now, head inside the lab you just opened via a new teleporter. A computer inside needs a password.
Get the PC password
You find the password by searching for four documents near the Director’s Office. Each one has a note number and a date on it.
Write the note number and month. This will be different in every match. Put notes in date order, and then use the note numbers to get a four-digit code for the computer.
For example, mine was:
- #1 – 7 (July)
- #3 – 8 (August)
- #5 – 12 (December)
- #6 – 6 (June)
So, put in order my password was: 6135
Input your password into the PC.
Then, go to the spawn area and drop down into Quantum lab, which is the place with the colorful mushrooms. One person needs the Melee Macchiato perk here.
Punch the Project Janus machine with the green light at the center hub in the room. It drops a brain item for you to pick up. Take the brain to the Teleportation Lab and place it in the Project Janus machine.
Whoever is carrying the brain is left vulnerable. Head straight to the Project Janus machine, and don’t try to switch to your weapon or anything to avoid dropping and losing the brain.
Now you need the Gorgofex Wonder Weapon to continue.
Take the Wonder Weapon to the Executive Suites, and you’ll see a gray closed door. Walk up and interact with the door to speak to Blanchard.
Then, go back to the spawn and into the red security room. Push the red button on the security terminal. This spawns a friendly Klaus maintenance bot. Protect him while he uses the computer.
A bouncing orb will spawn and make one elevator in the room inactive and glow red. Use the opposite elevator to go up a floor, and then from here you can drop down into the broken one.
Parachuting down into the inactive red elevator, you must interact with three switches on the way down. Just interact to turn them green. Repeat this step if you miss one.
Once all switches are green, you need to follow the bouncing orb into the Quantum lab. The orb will possess zombies here. Kill these zombies with the Gorgofex.
Once you’ve killed enough enemies with the Wonder Weapon, a shrouded character will appear. He’ll upgrade the Gorgofex for you.
Build Klaus
With the upgraded Wonder Weapon, you can now go to Android Assembly and build a Klaus bot. You might already have the arms from the Kommando Klaus bots. If you still need one, you’ll need to wait until a Kommando Klaus round to collect and attach the arms.
The two legs you need are inside the Android Assembly area. One is near the cabinet on the upper floor, as shown in the image above. The second is near a cabinet on the lower floor.
There is a robot hanging in the area, and it’s missing arms and legs. Interact to build with the parts you collected.
To bring him to life you’ll need to wait until a special round with UberKlaus. Lead UberKlaus near the Klaus robot to bait him into using his electric attack to zap the Klaus bot to life.
Once alive, Klaus spawns a S.A.M. Trial machine. Use it and complete the trial. Then, follow Klaus to the Teleportation Lab room. He’ll ask for a head.
Get a brain for Klaus
Head back to Mutant Research. Look down into the hole in the floor where the Quantum Lab is, and look for the hole in the wall that has light on. Shoot at it with the Gorgofex. It will drop a head. Parachute down and pick up the head.
Clean the head
Take the head back to spawn again. Melee the yellow mop and bucket in the lobby entrance until it’s positioned under a sprinkler head. Then interact with the bucket. This places the head inside to be cleaned, then interact with the bucket again to pick up the clean head.
You take damage holding the head. Drop it on the floor and kill zombies by head (fill it like a soul box) and do this until complete. Take the charged head to the T2 Teleportation Lab and leave it here for now.
Charge the Gorgofex
Next, go to the Pack-a-Punch area. Press the red button on the terminal. This spawns blue shrouded Vermin. Shoot the blue vermin with the Gorgofex Wonder Weapon. Keep doing this until a canister inside the control room glows with a blue orb. With the Gorgofex in hand, interact with the canister and the orb will attach to your Wonder Weapon.
Do not shoot the Gorgofex again until you complete the next step. If you accidentally fire the weapon before the next step, you’ll need to repeat this vermin step to charge up the canister and get a new blue orb to attach to the Gorgofex.
Prepare the portal
Go back to the Teleportation Lab with your charged-up Gorgofex. Then, use it to shoot at the purple crystal inside the case within the Teleportation Lab. This breaks away Dark Aether crystals to reveal a portal.
Now, grab the head you previously left here earlier. Interact with the portal to place the head inside.
Use Vacuum Seals
Next, you need to interact with blue Project Janus canisters on the map to get Vacuum Seal Devices. These were previously locked, but now they’re unlocked. You need four Vacuum Seal Devices from these containers.
Objects around the map will start glowing purple. You need to stand at a distance from these items and throw the Vacuum Seal Devices to catch them. You need to catch four items to fill all four Vacuum Seal Devices.
There are more purple items than you need, and multiple spawn locations. Here are some places to check:
- Near spawn area
- Mutant Research
- Quantum Lab
- Richtofen’s office
- Executive Suites
Take these four filled Vacuum Seal Devices back to the Teleportation Lab. Insert them in the control panel in front of the new portal.
Zombies will spawn once you do this. Turn all the red switches to green. Keep hitting the switches until they’re green and the portal stabilizes.
Stop here to prepare for a boss fight. Entering the portal is a point of no return.
Boss fight prep
The Gorgofex isn’t really great for the boss fight. You want Pack-a-Punched weapons with high rarity. Make sure you have perks, armor, and your field upgrade charged.
Stop reading here if you want to avoid any additional spoilers about the boss fight for Reckoning.
Boss fight choice
Spoiler alert: Reckoning is unique because it gives you the choice between two boss fights. You can choose to side with Richtofen or S.A.M. for this fight. Whoever you don’t choose is your boss to fight.
Teleporting takes you to a new area. Interact with the Sentinel Artifact here, and choose your fight. Then, an elevator takes you up to an area where you need to charge three soul boxes by killing zombies near them. Afterwards, you’ll proceed up to another floor with Dark Aether crystals that need to be shot before you can proceed to the roof for the boss fight.
S.A.M. is considered to be the easier choice. She is only vulnerable to attack at various stages of the fight, so this is mostly about dodging her attacks and surviving the zombies until she has red spots (the weak points) to shoot. When you see her shields go down, unload your weapons and aim for her weak points. There’s no time limit here, so take your time and avoid her attacks.
The other boss fight is similar, but you’re dealing with Richtofen in an UberKlaus suit. There are also a lot of other Klaus-type enemies to fight as well.
