China’s stranded astronauts ‘in good condition’ after space debris delays planned return

The return of three stranded Chinese astronauts who are facing a delayed return to Earth is progressing smoothly, according to the country’s Manned Space Engineering office. The Shenzhou-20 mission crew traveled to the Tiangong space station in April and had been due to end their six-month rotation on Nov. 5. But the trip back to Earth was delayed after their spacecraft was believed to have been struck by a small piece of space debris. The return has now been pushed back to an unspecified date. The crew is carrying out tests and drills and are in good condition, officials said.
