Catch the 17 boys lacrosse players to watch from the Daily News' MetroWest, Milford areas

The grass is starting to green on many lawns, but the lined turf is where all the action will be this spring: no need to pick weeds here.

With teams finishing final scrimmages, play for real will begin soon on lacrosse fields state-wide. Look for these boys lacrosse players from MetroWest and Milford once the opening faceoff is won.

Ryan Austin, Bellingham 

The senior scored a school-record 56 times last year and has 111 for his career. 

Nate Burns, Hopkinton

The Assumption-bound goalie is one of the top netminders in the Tri-Valley League. 

Thomas Cashman, Westborough

One of the more versatile players in Central Mass.

Jack Eastwood, Blackstone Valley Tech

The returning CAL All-Star is strong in the midfield.

Sam Freedman, Franklin 

Stepping into a starting role, the senior goalie should be tough to beat this spring. 

Rex Garozzo, Lincoln-Sudbury   

A sophomore goalie with lots of experience. 

Jordan Gaspar, Franklin 

One of the many seniors ready to step up and lead the attack for the Panthers. 

Noah Hill, AMSA

The senior captain is a top midfielder for the Eagles.

Luke Lewis, Hudson   

The sophomore who attends Tahanto High is a top scorer in the Mid-Wach. 

James Nolan, Wellesley 

Netted 46 goals last year for the Raiders. 

Jack O’Connor, Franklin 

A go-to for offense as the Panthers look to remain a title contender in the Hock. 

Alex Peck, Natick 

The senior captain is coming off a season in which he scored 52 goals. 

Jason Porazinski, Blackstone Valley Tech

The senior from Bellingham is a returning CAL All-Star for BVT’s defense.

Gavin Shipos, Medway 

The senior is 11 goals from a 100 and was a Tri-Valley League All-Star last spring. 

Jonah Sisitsky, Framingham   

The senior is a key member of the Flyers on defense and in the midfield. 

Matthew Treacy, Framingham   

Totaled 52 points as a freshman attack last season. 

Ben Yosca, Algonquin 

The senior midfielder helped the Titans win their first Central Mass Tournament Class A title last year.
