The Bengals aren’t safe from Steelers veteran DT Cam Heyward — even in the offseason!
One of the biggest stories in the NFL at the moment is how Cincinnati has mishandled contract negotiations surrounding one of the league’s best edge rushers — Trey Hendrickson.
On the podcast Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, the Steelers DT wasted little time sacking the Bengals over the situation. Co-host Hayden Walsh jokingly asked Heyward to make a public service announcement about paying Hendrickson instead of using all the money on offense, and this is what the Steelers veteran had to say:
“They don’t have enough money,” Heyward laughed. “I dare you to go pay him.”
The Bengals recently spent over $280 million extending star WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, making contract negotiations with Hendrickson near impossible — but necessary, as Cincinnati’s defense couldn’t afford to get even worse after a disappointing 2024.
Will Cincinnati take Heyward’s dare, or should the Steel City focus be on the Steelers re-signing their own star edge rusher, T.J. Watt, whose contract is set to expire after the 2025 season?
