Call Of Duty Season 5: Every New Map And Mode Coming To Black Ops 6 Multiplayer

Season 5 is on the horizon

Call of Duty’s Season 5 update lands on August 7, and when it does it will introduce four multiplayer maps, a batch of returning modes and new ones, as well as an explosive bow for players to deploy in heated battle.

Two of the upcoming maps are entirely new: Runway features a partially destroyed tarmac and airport terminal, while Exchange appears to be a tightly packed marketplace. Alongside these two are a remaster of an existing map from Black Ops history and another map inspired by Black Ops 4 specifically.

Besides the traditional mix of maps and modes, Season 5 is also adding new weapons, including a pair of boxing gloves, attachments, events, and an entirely new scorestreak in the form of a bow with explosive-tip arrows. Check out GameSpot’s breakdown of everything coming with Call of Duty’s Season 5 update for more details.

Runway

Runway is one of Season 5’s brand-new maps and is a medium-sized 6v6 arena that will be available at launch. Taking place in and around a destroyed airport terminal, players are welcome to play on the tarmac, the ruined terminal, and even the wreckage of the plane.

The real highlight of the map appears to be a fully functional conveyor belt like the ones seen in baggage claim, which seems perfect for sneak attacks as well as quick getaways.

Exchange

Exchange will also be available at launch and is a significantly smaller map designed for a mix of 6v6 and 2v2 play. Taking place in a marketplace with three lanes, the focal point of the map seems to be a deli smack in the middle, so if you need cover, feel free to dive behind the bar for a breather and a quick bite.

World Motor Dynasty [W.M.D]

World Motor Dynasty [W.M.D] is the latest returning locale that’ll be available at launch, and the 6v6 map has a particularly rich history with the series. First featured in the original Black Ops, it has recurred various times, including an appearance in Black Ops 4 and Cold War before returning in the latest installment.

In its previous incarnations, W.M.D has typically retained its original snowy appearance, but in Black Ops 6, the map’s received a facelift, ditching the snow for a warmer disposition and trading in the Nova 6 laboratory aesthetic for the appearance of a luxury car manufacturer, hence the name change.

Jackpot

Jackpot is the only one of Season 5’s new multiplayer maps that will launch at the mid-season point, and this 6v6 map will borrow elements of the Casino map from Black Ops 4 as well as one of Black Ops 6’s campaign missions. As the map name suggests, you’ll have to bob and weave between slot machines to get the upper hand on your opponents.

Aim High (New Mode)

Aim High is a new modifier that will arrive at Season 5’s launch for a variety of core modes like Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and more. As the name suggests, headshots will be the key to winning this new mode where aiming anywhere below the neck will be met with resistance from full body armor. Headshots, though, will grant instant kills.

Cranked Demolition (New LTM)

Cranked is making its return to Black Ops 6 as a modifier to the objective-based Demolition mode. This limitedttime mode will be arriving in the middle of Season 5 and will function as usual. That is, of course, that getting kills will “crank” a player, speeding them up but also placing a timer on them. Fail to get a kill or assist in that time, and you’ll explode.
