Bucs' Mike Evans Announces Major Statement On Thursday

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense last season was one of the best in football, and that was without Chris Godwin after Week 7.

However, this offseason, the franchise appeared to double down and strengthen its position even further. With Godwin returning from a nasty ankle injury, Tampa Bay drafted Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka in the first round, and then Tez Johnson in the seventh round to further bolster the room.

With Buccaneers minicamp underway, it is time to see how all the pieces around Baker Mayfield come together, and given that there is an abundance of talent, it can be hard to stand out.

But for Evans, Egbuka, and Johnson are already making waves,

“I know I say it a lot, but this might be the best receiving
room I’ve been a part of,” Evans said. “I say it every year, but we always get great players come in, been very fortunate for me in my career to be around a lot of great young players. They’ve added to the room tremendously, they’re already very polished, Emeka’s really strong hands, super smart, Tez, speed, quickness.”

So the Buccaneers’ receiver depth right now is absurd.

Egbuka’s talent is undeniable, and so too is his place in the offense, but for Tez, even coach Todd Bowles was glowing in his praise for the rookie, stating he would be a “vital part” of the offense if he continues to stack good days in practice.

So while many might be sleeping on the Buccaneers as an NFC contender, there is no doubt they have the weapons to go toe-to-toe with any team in football.

With their absurd receiver room set to be the driving force behind any success in 2025, thanks to two rookies.
