EA Sports has fully revealed every player rating in Madden NFL 26, so now it’s time to cover the overall ratings for the 32 NFL teams. Before the official launch on Aug. 7, we only have access to the top 10 overall teams in Madden 26, but all of the ratings will be revealed when the full game goes live. We’ll update this guide with the full ratings after they’re made public.
Below, you can see the top 10 teams in Madden 26. The list certainly includes some shifts from last year and overall fan expectations. Baltimore Ravens – 93 OVR
The Baltimore Ravens come in as the top overall-rated team in Madden 26, despite not making it to Championship Weekend during the 2024-25 NFL season. Not much has changed for the Ravens over the offseason, as they’ve brought back most of their roster and added some key players, such as wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and defensive back Chidobe Awuzie. In addition to being a 93 OVR team, Baltimore is rated an 87 on defense and a 94 on offense.
Philadelphia Eagles – 91 OVR
The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are the second-highest rated team in Madden 26 at 91 OVR. While this might seem odd at first glance, the Eagles lost a number of starting players from their Super Bowl-winning roster during the offseason. Even though Philly did resign some key players, those losses have clearly affected their Madden rating. The Eagles are also rated a 94 on offense and aren’t rated in the top 10 on defense.
Kansas City Chiefs – 90 OVR
The Super Bowl runners-up are next, as the Kansas City Chiefs are rated 90 OVR in Madden 26. Even after being demolished in the Super Bowl by the Eagles and losing some top-notch talent during the offseason, KC continues its streak of being rated in the 90s. While quarterback Patrick Mahomes is certainly a significant reason for those consistent ratings, the Chiefs’ offense and defense are both rated 89 in Madden 26.
Buffalo Bills – 89 OVR
The Buffalo Bills are coming off another heartbreak of a season, as they lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship yet again. Reigning NFL MVP quarterback Josh Allen remains the heart and soul of the Bills, but there are certainly some question marks surrounding him heading into the 2025 season. Nevertheless, Buffalo is rated highly on both sides of the ball, with a 90 on offense and an 85 on defense.
Minnesota Vikings – 88 OVR
The Minnesota Vikings are the first real surprise team on the list so far. Even though Minnesota put together a masterful regular season in 2024, they’re basically starting a rookie at quarterback in J.J. McCarthy after moving on from Sam Darnold in the offseason. McCarthy’s play will almost certainly dictate how the Vikings’ season unfolds, and that’s reflected in the team’s offensive rating, which isn’t in the top 10 in Madden 26. The team’s defense has an 84 rating, however.
Detroit Lions – 88 OVR
While the Vikings and Lions have the same OVR, EA Sports chose to place Minnesota over Detroit in the official ratings reveal. This is slightly peculiar given that the Lions have the same team defense rating as the Vikings, 84, and a much higher offense rating at 91. Regardless, Detroit suffered some serious losses during the offseason, as both of the team’s coordinators moved on to greener pastures and several key defensive players departed as well. We’ll have to wait and see which 88 OVR team comes out on top in the NFC North.
Houston Texans – 87 OVR
Up next are the Houston Texans at 87 OVR, who had an interesting offseason that saw them ship off a future Hall of Fame left tackle in Laremy Tunsil and sign some potentially underrated skill players on offense and defense. The Texans are the clear-cut favorites in a weak AFC South, but quarterback C.J. Stroud will look to rebound from a shaky sophomore campaign, especially now that running back Joe Mixon has been sidelined. Houston comes into Madden 26 with an 86 rating on defense and an offense outside the top 10.
Denver Broncos – 87 OVR
The Denver Broncos also sit at 87 OVR in Madden 26 after a surprisingly successful 2024-25 season that saw them make the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade. While they were outmatched by Buffalo in the first round, Denver proved their rebuild was officially over. The Broncos have a particularly strong defense, which is rated at 85 in Madden 26, and an up-and-coming offense that’s likely rated just outside the top 10.
Pittsburgh Steelers – 86 OVR
The Pittsburgh Steelers are rated at 86 OVR in Madden 26, and a bulk of that rating comes on the back of the team’s stellar defense. With players like T.J. Watt, Cameron Heyward, and now Jalen Ramsey in the mix, Pittsburgh should stay competitive in a majority of its games. The Steelers have major questions on offense, however, as aging quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ last hurrah could make or break the team’s season. Pittsburgh has the top-rated defense in Madden 26 at 91, and an offense that’s likely well below that rating.
San Francisco 49ers – 86 OVR
The top 10 is rounded out by the San Francisco 49ers, and this might be the most shocking rating of the entire list. After an abysmal 6-11 season, EA Sports is seemingly fully expecting the 49ers to rebound in a major way. Most fans expected to see the Washington Commanders in this spot after their miracle run to the NFC Championship game, but San Francisco still has some clout, given their talented roster and consistent success over the past few years. The 49ers have an 88 rating on offense and are not rated in the top 10 on defense in Madden 26.
