Visakhapatnam: An explosive dump was unearthed by police on the outskirts of Kannavaram village at Mampa police station limits in Alluri Sitharama Raju district on Saturday.
The police came to know that the dump was planted by the banned CPI(Maoist) party with an intention to eliminate police parties engaged in combing operations. Explosives, electrical items used for blasting and revolutionary literature of banned CPI Maoist were identified in the dump.
District Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha and Chinthapalli Sub-Division Additional Superintendent of Police Pratap Siva Kishore said Maoists should stop such violent policies that hinder development and join the mainstream.
“The Maoist revolution which is not useful for tribal people should be replaced by a real revolution. Every tribal child should get an opportunity to study and there should be a revolution in agriculture. Tribals should be able to grow good crops as well as get away from crops like ganja that debilitate the society,” Sinha said.
“There should be a revolution in education and medicine and there should be a consciousness among tribals to free themselves from fake doctors and superstitions and for that all the tribal people have been appealed to stay away from the ideology of the banned Maoist and join the development,” he explained.
Similarly, all the tribal people of Alluri Sitharama Raju district are assured that whatever their problem be it road, medical, jobs, crop loans or any other problem, they can contact the police directly for help. The police said investigation was on the procurement of explosives by Maoists and search operations are being done nearby places.
