Anushka Eyes Bold 50th Film After Miss Shetty Mister Polishetty

Glam diva Anushka Shetty, who returned with light-hearted but bold entertainer ‘Miss Shetty Mister Polishetty’, plans to do a big ticket film as her 50th movie. She has been hailed the flag-bearer of women-centric movies in Tollywood for the last 15 years and delivered blockbusters from ‘Arundathi’ to ‘Bhagmathee’. “She has attained a larger-than-life image and wants to do a sensational film as her 50th film to keep up with her stature and popularity,” says a source. He claims she is doing crime drama ‘Ghaati’ wherein she plays a woman caught in a weed trade. “She is doing a grey role for the first time and it has triggered some interest,” he adds.

After acting in Telugu and Tamil films since 2005, actor Anushka Shetty is making her debut in Malayalam. The actor will star in Rojin Thomas’ period fantasy drama, Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer, which also stars Jayasurya and Vineeth. “It is another challenging role for the talented actress and it would expand her fan base,” he adds.

Her 50th film is to go on floors next year and she is going to listen to larger-than-life scripts that would enthrall her fan following since she has gained a market of Rs 20 crore including digital rights and would like to showcase her acting caliber in her landmark film too. UV Creations would be bankrolling the project, but nothing is finalized yet. ‘All depends on an exciting and gripping script,” he concludes.
