The Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, highlighted the Agniveer scheme as a prime opportunity for Indian youth to serve the nation. Speaking at INS Chilika, he emphasized the program’s appeal, offering four years of service in the Indian Navy, Army, or Air Force. With 1,389 Agniveers, including 214 women, joining the force, Tripathi dismissed any controversies surrounding the scheme. He also affirmed the Indian Navy’s robust coastal security amid concerns over unrest in neighboring Bangladesh.
