After pager blasts, US moves against China over possible ‘traffic catastrophe’

The US Commerce Department is considering banning Chinese software and hardware in connected and autonomous vehicles due to national security concerns. This follows recent incidents involving booby-trapped pagers in Lebanon. The regulation would prohibit the import and sale of vehicles from China with key communications or automated driving system components.
