Voting from the stars: How Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore will participate in US Election 2024 from orbit

US Election 2024: NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, currently stationed aboard the International Space Station (ISS), will cast their votes in the upcoming U.S. election from space due to a delay in their return to Earth. Initially planned as an eight-day mission, their stay has been extended until February 2025 due to technical issues with Boeing’s Starliner capsule. The two astronauts remain dedicated to their mission, continuing maintenance and research work aboard the ISS while awaiting their return via a SpaceX capsule.
