In absolute terms, 2.5 cr more voter turnout recorded so far; significant rise in women’s participation: SBI report

According to an SBI report citing Election Commission data, approximately 2.5 crore more Indian voters have participated in the first four phases of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections compared to 2019. Despite a lower percentage turnout of 66.95% compared to 68.15% in 2019, the absolute number of voters has increased or remained stable in 90% of constituencies. Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra saw the highest voter increases, while Kerala and Manipur saw declines.
