Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s Project Hail Maryis highly faithful to Andy Weir’s 2021 science fiction book of the same name. Lord and Miller hit all the highlights of Weir’s story about a desperate mission to Tau Ceti to save Earth’s sun, but they do trim away some of the author’s explanations about the mission and the apocalyptic threat.
