Shh. Do you hear that? It’s the video games. They’re here.
OK, look — I know. They’ve been here. But somehow it feels like more games are hitting us at an unprecedented rate. That includes the new Skate, which is a lot more fun than I was expecting. It’s a stupid hang-out game, but I’m stupid and I like to hang out. I don’t know if it’s the game the hashtagskate4 people were asking for. It has some kinda juice, and it’s in early access. So hopefully EA’s team can build on what is working.
Oh, hey — people are playing 2XKO. I should play it, too, but it stresses me out when other people have to rely on me. And yeah, that is really Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at No. 7. I mentioned that the first submission from a Bomb 12er was for that game, and I guess the rest of you thought it would be fun to get in on the action.
It’s still Hollow Knight: Silksong’s world, though. It had more than double the votes compared to any other game. That doesn’t mean Borderlands 4 is slacking. I’m really happy to see that game deliver what people want. As I’m writing this, ESPN just aired an ad for Gearbox’s looter shooter. I find it very reassuring that we still get games like this with a big-budget marketing campaign. Sure, we know we’ll get that for the next big PlayStation game or Grand Theft Auto VI, but it’s nice that something like Borderlands 4 can get the same treatment.
