Steelers rookie Will Howard praises Aaron Rodgers' leadership: 'He expects excellence'

Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers’ talent is unparalleled — but it’s his work ethic that has rookie QB Will Howard in awe.

On Thursday, Howard shared on The Pat McAfee Show why he believes Rodgers’ strengths go beyond his impressive arm — it’s his leadership.

“He gets on everybody,” Howard told The Pat McAfee Show about Rodgers’ leadership. “He expects excellence and he’s demanding. He’s a great leader. It’s been great to just sit back and watch the way that he operates. I’ve been learning from it and trying to pick his brain as much as I can.”

This past Thursday, the Steelers placed Howard on Injured Reserve with the broken finger he suffered on August 5 — but his overall development under his mentor Rodgers hasn’t changed.

It’s clear Rodgers is making the sort of impact the Steelers expected out of the 20-year veteran — possibly paving the way for Howard to eventually take the reins when he hangs up his cleats.
