Gotta go back in time
As 2025 heads further into its latter half, we’re getting more and more showcases that reveal what studios and publishers have in store for the holiday season and early 2026. The most recent batch of announcements has been served up by THQ Nordic, which have been rounded up below.
While there were a handful of games revealed in the showcase that are brand-new IP, quite a few are remasters, remakes, or sequels to games that first came out in the early or mid-2000s. Between the remake for Gothic, remaster for Sacred 2, and sequels to long-running franchises like Darksiders and The Guild, this was a great showcase for folks who enjoyed playing action games or RPGs 20 years ago.
Darksiders 4
The big reveal during the showcase was a teaser trailer for Darksiders 4. The trailer doesn’t show much–we only see Darksiders protagonist War state that he won’t be fighting the coming war alone, and emerging behind him are Darksiders 2 protagonist Death, Darksiders 3 protagonist Fury, and Darksiders Genesis protagonist Strife.
Darksiders 4 is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
The Eternal Life of Goldman
We also got a new trailer for The Eternal Life of Goldman. The whimsical-looking platformer and cute vibes quickly give way to disturbing imagery and chilling narration. This definitely looks like a game to keep an eye on.
The Eternal Life of Goldman is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch, and PC.
Fatekeeper
Announced during the showcase, Fatekeeper is an upcoming first-person action-RPG set in a dark-fantasy world. We got to see small snippets of gameplay, in which the protagonist utilizes a collection of melee weapons (like swords and clubs) and magical telekinesis to parry, push, slash, and bludgeon their way through a series of grotesque monsters and scarred humans.
Gothic Remake
A new trailer for the upcoming remake of Gothic 1 debuted during the showcase. Most of the trailer was devoted to worldbuilding and narration, reminding veteran players of the in-game history and introducing new players thinking of picking up this reimagining of this 2001 action-RPG. The latter half of the trailer features some in-game footage, though, which primarily shows off the enhanced visuals, not the moment-to-moment gameplay.
Gothic Remake is coming in early 2026 to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
In addition, the showcase revealed that Gothic Classic, Gothic 2 Complete Classic, and Gothic 3 Classic are all coming to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 in 2026.
Reanimal
With a new studio working on Little Nightmares 3, the next game coming from the creators of the first two entries got a new trailer during the showcase as well. The new gameplay is further proof that this is the most Little Nightmares-looking game there is that isn’t Little Nightmares. Lots of spooks. Plenty of disconcerting vibes. And just a couple of little guys fighting to survive some cruel platformer puzzles in a dangerous world.
Reanimal is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch 2, and PC in Q1 2026.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster
Revealed during the showcase, 2008’s Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is getting a remaster. The action-RPG is getting a visual facelift with new 3D models and a UI redesign but otherwise looks unchanged.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide
The rumored SpongeBob game is real! Announced during the showcase with a new story and gameplay trailer, Titans of the Tide sees Bikini Bottom thrown into turmoil when Neptune and The Flying Dutchman arguing over who truly rules the seas. The fight causes SpongeBob to die and become a ghost, but thanks to the BFF rings that he and Patrick are wearing, they can switch who’s living and who’s dead at any time. Each possesses their own unique platforming and combat abilities, and you switch between the two on the fly to fight bosses, save familiar faces, and complete challenges.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch 2, and PC on November 18.
The Guild: Europa 1410
Also revealed during the showcase, The Guild series is getting a sequel. The follow-up looks leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessors (which first released in the early and mid-2000s; yes it’s been that long), implementing more modern real-time-strategy and RPG mechanics and features for a more fleshed out medieval life sim.
The Guild: Europa 1410 is coming to PC.
Tides of Tomorrow
Tides of Tomorrow looks like a very interesting game. You are in search of a cure to a disease in a flooded world. You’re a time walker, so you can see the imprint that other time walkers have left behind, cluing you in on the potential outcomes to making certain choices. These shadows however are other players, all playing in the same world–it’s like the ghostly remnants left behind by other players in the Dark Souls games. The game is all about deciding if you’ll follow the path of those that came before you, or go to unexplored locations and create new paths for the players that come after you.
Tides of Tomorrow is coming to PC on February 24, 2026.
Titan Quest II
A short gameplay trailer for Titan Quest 2 made its debut during the showcase, primarily focused on showcasing the locales you’ll be able to explore in the upcoming Greek myth-inspired action-RPG. Like a lot of the other games shown off or revealed during the showcase, Titan Quest 2 is new life in an old series–the first game came out back in 2006.
Titan Quest 2 just launched in early access (like during the showcase–you can go try it right now!) on PC.
Wreckfest 2
Wreckfest 2 has been out on PC via early access since March 2025. Early player impressions on Steam were positive, though more recent sentiment is mixed. A new trailer for the game was shown during the showcase, reminding viewers that this full-contact racing game is indeed out in early access if you didn’t know already.
Wreckreation
If you’re looking to crash your car in a new game, however, the showcase has you covered. A new gameplay trailer for Wreckreation showed off the upcoming racing sandbox’s vibrant world and destructive physics engine. The game is all about exploring an open world, finding races to participate in, and being as destructive as you want. Think Mario Kart World but more violent, and available on all the systems where Mario Kart World can’t be played.
Wreckreation is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
