How To Complete The Huang Jian’e Quest In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Are you planning to complete the Huang Jian’e quest in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers? This Taoist adherent seems to be addled at first glance. Then, she remembers past events that transpired, causing her to swear vengeance to those who’ve ransacked her temple. We’ve got all the details for you here, but be forewarned that there are spoilers ahead.

How to complete the Huang Jian’e quest in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

The Huang Jian’e quest begins at Shu Sanctum. You need to acquire specific items for her, as well as meet her in certain locations. Only then will you be able to summon her for a particular boss fight. Note that a single mistake may cause the entire quest chain to end prematurely.

Huang Jian’e location #1 and the Trinity Bell item

To start the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Huang Jian’e quest, you must acquire the Trinity Bell item. It’s dropped by a boss named Lu Hongliu in an arena in Narrow Stretch–i.e. the village near Shu Sanctum.

As for Jian’e, she’s actually inside Shu Sanctum. The first time you speak to her, she’ll give you the Zhenwu Hairpin headgear. Then, if you give her the Trinity Bell, she’ll hand over 1x Recovery Pill and the Greet emote. This also continues her quest.

Note: Do not progress further into the campaign without giving the Trinity Bell to Huang Jian’e. If you fail to give her this item, she’ll turn hostile by the time you reach Mt. Zhenwu – Refugee camp, and you’ll have no choice but to kill her.

Huang Jian’e location #2

Next, advance further into the campaign until you reach Cloudspire – Snowy Passage. From the shrine, open the town gate and look to your left. Jian’e is waiting for you inside a house. She has a task for you, so say that you’ll “agree to help.” She’ll give you 1x Recovery Pill and the Zhenwu Tome quest item.

Li Wansan location

The next step for the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Huang Jian’e quest involves finding a man named Li Wansan. Here’s what you need to do:

Defeat General of the North – Ai Nengqi and Ming General – Liu Cheng’en. You should then have access to an area called Snowpeak Pass.Explore the garrison and, eventually, you’ll meet He Youzai in one of the towers. Exit the building and look to the left to spot Li Wansan.Give the Zhenwu Tome to Li Wansan. He’ll hand over the Red Mercury Crystal.Fast travel back to Snowy Passage and give the Red Mercury Crystal to Huang Jian’e. She’ll reward you with 1x Fixed Origin Pill and 1x Brilliant Red Feather.

Huang Jian’e location #3

This time, you have to proceed further until you reach the pavilions at the back of Zhenwu Antechamber. The main pavilion here has a section with levers that you need to pull to move ledges/platforms. Once you’re at the opposite side, you’ll see Jian’e below a staircase.

The Fierce Tiger and Sovereign – Zhang Xianzhong boss fight

If you’ve done every task for Huang Jian’e up to this point, you should be able to summon her during the Fierce Tiger/Sovereign – Zhang Xianzhong boss fight. Use the Bone Whistle during the encounter to make her appear in the arena. Since this is a two-phase encounter, an NPC ally is definitely invaluable.

Note: If you’re tackling the Nian Suichang quest, you’ll also get to summon him for this bout. It will turn into a 3-on-1 battle.

Huang Jian’e quest rewards

After defeating Sovereign – Zhang Xianzhong, rest at the shrine that just appeared. You’ll then see a gravely wounded Jian’e by the exit near the burned houses. Talk to her then rest up once more. Her body will disappear, but you’ll find 1x Half Vitalitus Pill and the rest of the Zhenwu armor set–i.e. Zhenwu Robes, Zhenwu Bracers, and Zhenwu Sandals.

Note: As mentioned earlier, failing to do the earlier tasks would cause Huang Jian’e to turn hostile. You’ll end up fighting her at the Refugee Camp in Mt. Zhenwu. Killing her at that stage also causes her to drop the remaining armor pieces.
