Lady Vols' softball All-American transfers

Tennessee redshirt sophomore softball player Taylor Pannell transferred to Texas Tech.

Pannell is an All-SEC standout and Second-Team All-America player.

She was the Lady Vols’ leading hitter and played a role in Tennessee’s 2025 postseason, which ended in the semifinals of the 2025 Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Lady Vols were eliminated by eventual national champion Texas, who defeated the Red Raiders in a best-of-three championship series.

Pannell recorded a .398 batting average in 2025. She recorded 16 home runs, 65 RBIs, 56 runs, 13 doubles, 34 walks, .747 slugging percentage and a .493 on-base percentage.

During her career at Tennessee, she appeared in 124 games, including 122 starts. As a freshman in 2023, Pannell started her first seven games before suffering a season-ending injury. She recording a .571 batting average in Oklahoma City, and a two-run home run in the Lady Vols’ extra-inning victory over UCLA. Pannell scored five runs in the Women’s College World Series, including three against the Bruins.

She is one of four Lady Vols to enter the NCAA transfer portal since the conclusion of the 2025 campaign. Freshman pitcher Peyton Tanner transferred to Baylor, while Destiny Rodriguez and Ryan Brown have also entered the portal.
