Wings Near Paige Bueckers Update as Injuries Hammer PG Spot originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Dallas Wings limped into Seattle badly in need of a win on Tuesday, as they sit in last place in the WNBA with a 1-6 record. They were off to a good start, with an eight-point lead over the Storm at halftime, but they continue to be held back by injuries. Not only is rookie No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers out because of a concussion, but her backup point guard, Tyasha Harris, is also out.
Harris suffered a knee injury on May 27, in the Wings’ only win of the year, at Connecticut.
Bueckers suffered the concussion when she banged heads with Courtney Vandersloot of the Sky on Thursday.

There could be good news in the offing, though. Bueckers is slated to be re-evaluated after Tuesday’s game, which means she could be allowed back on the floor in time for Friday’s meeting with the Sparks in Dallas.
Wings reporter Joey Mistretta of Clutch Points wrote on Twitter/X, when asked about Bueckers’ status, “All we were told is that Paige Bueckers will be re-evaluated following Tuesday’s game — So I assume the update won’t be provided until Wednesday or Thursday.”
He also said he asked coach Chris Koclanes befoere the Storm game for an update on Harris.
“Nothing as of right now, sorry,” he said, via Mistretta.
Neither Harris nor Bueckers traveled to Seattle for the game.
Koclanes did lament the team’s lack of depth at point guard, saying in the pregame, “There really is no point guard active right now. … JJ [Quinerly] off the bench is really our only true point guard … she really hasn’t been a point guard since high school.”
For context, Ty Harris is also out (knee).
