The wheels on the bus go round and round, and down to Disney+. CoComelon, the preeminent source for colors and shapes among the baby cognoscenti, is leaving Netflix in 2027. Sources at the streamer told The Hollywood Reporter the show was dropped due to a decline in viewership. Netflix’s self-reported stats say CoComelon has fallen off by 60% of its viewership. But other sources say Disney just outbid Netflix, fostering their already strong kiddie portfolio of Bluey, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and old episodes of Disneyland narrated by former nazis.

It’s been an eventful month in children’s programming, with Sesame Street moving to Netflix, a CoComelon movie being announced, and Ms. Rachel interviewed by CNN about her support of the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund. There are some CoComelon-adjacent properties remaining at Netflix. The streamer is keeping Blippi and CoComelon Lane.
