The NFL made a big announcement on Tuesday, as they will allow its players to participate in Flag Football during the Olympics in 2028.
Many will want to play for the United States, who undoubtedly will be the favorite, but former Notre Dame football star safety Kyle Hamilton might have a different idea. Shortly after the announcement, the current Baltimore Ravens All-Pro went to social media and sent just one image, the South Korean flag.
Hamilton looks like he’s leaning towards playing for his mother’s home country, but he currently doesn’t have citizenship there. He does however have it in Greece, where he was born. He still has plenty of time to made a final decision, but bigger questions arise.
Will the Ravens allow their players to participate, as there is going to be some injury risk and Hamilton has battled knee injuries during his professional career. It could be a real possibility that his team pushes him to prepare for their season as opposed to playing in the Olympics. He has participated in the Pro Bowl flag football games, but those were at the conclusion of the football calendar.
Surely we will find out soon what Hamilton’s intentions are, but at the moment it does look like he might suit up for the South Korean team.
