The GHSA baseball playoffs start Wednesday, April 23, with teams battling it out in double headers in a best of three format, with a game three — if needed — set to be played the next day.
There are also series set to begin on Friday in the Class A-3A Private classification.
The top teams from the Savannah area include Effingham County, the Region 1-5A champion entering the playoffs with a 25-5 record. The Rebels are set to host East Paulding (17-14) on Wednesday, April 23, with the first game starting at 4:30 p.m.
In Class A-3A Private, the seedings are based on GHSA Power Rankings. Calvary Day, which reached the Class 3A finals last year, is ranked at No. 4 and the Cavaliers (19-7) are set to host Mt. Pisgah (3-20) on Friday, but the games won’t be at Grayson Stadium. Calvary will play at Islands High with the first game starting at 4 p.m.
Savannah Christian enters the playoffs at No. 7 in the Power Rankings, and the Raiders will host St. Francis on Friday at a time to be announced.

Class 5A
No. 4 East Paulding (17-14) at No. 1 Effingham County (25-5), DH on Wednesday, April 23, 4:30 p.m., if game on Thursday.
Class A-3A Private

No. 29 Mt. Pisgah (3-20) at No. 4 Calvary Day (19-7), DH on Friday, April 25, at 4 p.m. at Islands High School. If game on Saturday.
No. 26 St. Francis (10-19) at No. 7 Savannah Christian (18-12), DH on Friday, April 25, if game on Saturday.
No. 25 Savannah Country Day (7-19) at No. 8 Holy Innocents (19-8), DH on Friday, April 25, if game on Saturday.
Class 6A
No. 4 Richmond Hill (17-12) at No. 1 Etowah (28-2), DH on Wednesday, April 23, if game on Thursday.
Class 4A
No. 3 Benedictine (15-15) at No. 2 Marist, (25-5), DH on Wednesday, April 23, 3 p.m.; if game on Thursday.
Class 3A

No. 27 Islands (11-16) at No. 6 NW Whitefield (17-13), DH on Wednesday, April 23, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.; if game on Thursday.
Class 1A Division II
