As the NFL Draft draws closer, former Longhorn Isaiah Bond will be busy touring the country. Over the next month, he will visit the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and the Los Angeles Rams. For teams looking to add more speed to their wide receiving room, Bond is an intriguing target.
During his only season with Texas, Bond recorded 34 receptions for 540 yards. He found the end zone a career-high five times and averaged 15.9 yards a catch. While the Georgia native battled injuries towards the end of the year, he was a reliable target when he was healthy.
The Rams’ interest in Bond does not come as a huge surprise. When it comes to the Longhorns, the Rams are very familiar with the program. Last year, they drafted former Longhorns wide receiver Jordan Whittington in the sixth round. GM Les Snead also traveled to Austin for the Longhorns’ pro day this week.

This offseason, the Rams’ wide receiver room has undergone some major changes. One of their most productive players in recent memory, Cooper Kupp, signed with the Seattle Seahawks. They brought back Tutu Atwell on a one-year deal, but they could use another speedy receiver.
While the Rams have a connection to the Longhorns, the Packers and Falcons could benefit from having Bond in their offense. With the Longhorns, his numbers increased across the board except for receptions. Had Bond stayed healthier, that number could have been higher.
Regardless of where Bond ends up, he brings an intriguing skillset to the table. He is a dynamic athlete with the explosiveness and speed to run past defenders. During his time with the Longhorns, he also showed an ability to add on yards after the catch. Those traits have drawn the interest of many NFL teams and should improve the longer he is in a system.
He will be a name to watch during the draft as teams look for ways to improve their offenses.
