Hyderabad: The Income tax department had extended the deadline to link PAN and Aadhar card until May 31 with a fine of Rs 1000.

It is mandatory to link both the identity cards. A notification to link the cards for free was released and its deadline was also ended.
Now, for the people who did not avail the free linking of Aadhar and PAN, the officials have made an arrangement to do so with a fine. The tax will be higher on transactions made before March 31, 2024 for people who failed to link PAN-Aadhar, said IT officials. Linking PAN-Aadhar ensures you don’t face higher tax deductions/ tax collection.

Kind Attention Taxpayers,

Please link your PAN with Aadhaar before May 31st, 2024, if you haven’t already, in order to avoid tax deduction at a higher rate.
