The Denver Broncos had a whopping 29 players sit out Saturday’s home preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Several players are nursing injuries or just returning from injuries, including outside linebacker Nik Bonitto (foot), tight end Nate Adkins (ankle), fullback Michael Burton (hamstring), cornerback Reese Taylor (hamstring), inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad), cornerback Joshua Pickett (undisclosed), wide receiver A.T. Perry (ankle), inside linebacker Alex Singleton (thumb) and outside linebacker Drew Sanders (foot).
Denver also rested a host of healthy starters and key rotational players, including quarterback Bo Nix, outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper, cornerback Pat Surtain, safety Talanoa Hufanga, wide receiver Courtland Sutton, receiver Devaughn Vele, receiver Marvin Mims, cornerback Riley Moss, safety Brandon Jones, running back J.K. Dobbins, cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian, center Luke Wattenberg, right tackle Mike McGlinchey, left tackle Garett Bolles, guard Ben Powers, guard Quinn Meinerz, defensive lineman D.J. Jones, defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, defensive end John Franklin-Myers and defensive end Zach Allen.
Up next for the Broncos is a preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 23.
